The ‘Satay’ we will always remember
Sunday, October 29th, 2006Satay to many of you would generally consists of chunks of meat on bamboo skewers grilled over charcoal fire served with spicy peanut sauce, onions, slices of cucumber and many other variations.
hmm…yummy…taste good…Definitely gotta have some overseas rite?..I love satay very much.
Whenever i think of satay, i will always remember my dear friend for holding his ‘annual get together makan makan sate’ at his house. A friend who none other than goes by the nick name ‘Hong’. Well i normally call him by his full name though. One of the best satay’s i’ve ever tasted is always at this annual party. A party that i will come no matter where i am in the world. Women just get so crazy over him for his satays, that they have him to hurry up with his famous satays when the real fact is that he got all four of us to grill it for him. Ah Hong’s very efficient Satay service!Fast, Filling, and Tasty!!
*exagerrated*just jk arr…
Now, there has always been another satay that i will always remember as well. He lives in a bungalow, Food well served to him, Clean water was also served to him. Had more than 16 over kids (too naughty). Acts cute at times. Runs around with a bell.
You’re not thinking i’m gay i hope!!His not a male sickened up Gigolo. Let me carry on plss…
The other ‘Satay’ will be my family’s rabbit. That’s his name. Yummy ain’t it..hehe
Two days ago we visited our rabbit and the sad thing was, he wasn’t the lively rabbit we came to visit!!
Our rabbit decided to part ways and move on. He was 9 years old and few months i suppose..Had him since 1997. I felt it was about time that he moved on since he was pretty successful having 16 kids(pity the mother who had no where to go every night), lived 3/4 of his life single(female was given away, PMS was a major problem), managed to not get himself killed by the many predators of the neighborhood such as neighbor’s cats with only one eye(he suffered cataract) for 9 years!!successful enuf??definitely…for yer information, his not caged.
Actually, Satay didn really die two days ago. He must have been dead a few days before. There were already maggots on it.
Sorry, can’t share photos.. must respect respect sikit ok…
Thus, in order to make sure that he died of old age (which is the best way of leaving this world), I decided to put my CSI(crime scene investigation) skills into action. I mean i had to be really good since i’ve watched all the episodes from season 1 to the current season 5 episode 6.
So, i decided to do what horatio caine would do. Act cool for dead ppl to see. As for this case, dead rabbit.
I looked at it and analyzed the dead just like how HORATIO CAINE WOULD HAVE DONE IT!! I saw no signs of predator attack or else he would have been torn apart, my rabbit was a juicy one. Now, i would have taken samples from his mouth to see whether he had food poisoning but i would be over doing my investigation.
So i simply concluded that he died of old age since a normal average lifespan for a rabbit is about 10 years. Now, the only way of how i could measure the date and time of his death was by the size of the maggots. Looking at it, he must have died on a Wednesday night which was a Raya. We did not visit him for just two days which was Wednesday and Thursday.
Click on the link to read more about Maggots and how i’ve used it to determine the date and time of death.
Well, gave him the proper "send off". Did not know what religion he was practicing, so i decided to create the easiest send off ritual for him. Understandable..
Will Miss u satay. You will always be remembered. The house u live in is so empty without u. He died peacefully as of 25th October 2006.
Rest in peace…….
